McKenzie Friend

A McKenzie Friend is a person who is allowed to help in court even though they are not a party to the case. This is an official position recognised by courts and judges as well as solicitors and barristers who may be acting for your opponent.

As your McKenzie Friend we can come with you to the court building, book you in and find you the right rooms. We can then discuss points with your opponent and try to negotiate a settlement.

During the hearing we sit next to you, guiding you through the paperwork and discussing the next step throughout. We can explain what is happening and tell you what to do next. We can help with questions to your opponents and your comments to the judge. We take a detailed note of everything that happens and advise on an appeal if necessary.

Throughout your day at court you do indeed have an expert friend right there with you to help at every stage.

Going to court is where we can really save you money. We only charge at a rate of £150 per hour or £1000 for a full day all in. This compares to four or five times that figure for a day with a solicitor and barrister.

Don't leave justice to a game between lawyers - have your say!

Hearings include short applications, financial dispute resolution, directions hearings, full trials, residence hearings, property disputes, injunction hearings, appeals to higher courts and many others.
